This weekend marked Round 1 for the majority of our ERT competitors, with our Open team commencing next week! We hope everyone had a smooth start to the season and plenty of fun was had! Unfortunately as I was international for work last week I was not able to get the fixtures into our TeamApp completed before round 1 however this has now been updated for the season. This is where your team can rsvp so you know who is playing each week, and has the full fixture to be able to see where your games are. If you don’t already do this and want to get access, please register here: https://yallambietennisclub.teamapp.com/
As the season has now commenced, we will be sending out the competition/ball fees shortly. Please look to pay these asap to help save our volunteer committee from having to chase for payments. It is also worth mentioning that we have successfully obtained another grant! This time to get us a much needed new BBQ and a competition A-frame to help us organise ourselves on competition day.
As mentioned earlier this week, our AGM will be taking place at 7:00pm on Monday the 27th October at the Yallambie Tennis Clubrooms. Over the last 2 years our committee has worked so hard to create a thriving, fun filled environment that brings to life the values of the club. This has happened by a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment. We know that the experience at the club is something to be proud of and worth keeping, and if you feel this way as well, we encourage you to please attend the AGM too. Whether you can allocate time to be a committee member, or even just a volunteer on the odd occasion, we would love to see you there.
The roles that would make a huge help are as follows. Please note that any role not filled, is often done by the president or secretary currently so to keep a sustainable club going, we urge you to consider:
Cafe Manager, Clubroom Manager, Membership Coordinator, Uniform Coordinator, Tennis Coordinator, Club Day Coordinator, Business Development Manager, Weekend Competition Manager
It is important to note that each of these positions can also have delegates such as the cafe manager could find volunteers to help them with managing the cafe. Not all hours have to land on that person, but I have tried to be somewhat realistic so that no one gets shock if they would like to help. We are also happy to work with anyone who would like to perform a subset of a role but cannot commit to the entire role. At the end of the day, we appreciate we are just volunteers and want to spread the load.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Cheers,
Iain Hebden
Club President.
