As we approach the midway point of the year, I thought it would be handy to share some reminders that can assist not only the club, but everyone at the club. Please see below:
Everyone can help no matter how small
Funnily enough at times the club runs like a business which is flattering as a committee but unfortunately not quite the case. Things like emptying rubbish bins, taking recycling, wiping surfaces down, sweeping and mopping, are actually typically performed by volunteers. So if it is pizza boxes that can be placed into the red bin outside straight away, or sweeping the clay out of the clubroom, every little bit helps.
Lighting requires a code
The days are getting shorter and the need for court lighting is growing. However it is important to remember that if the lights are on, it doesnt mean they will stay on. The first thing you should always do when arriving at night is punch in your booking code. This should ensure that the lights stay on during your booking. We have already experienced a few competition nights where the lights have turned off, and a simple 5 second entering of the 4 digit pin, can save you from 20 minutes waiting for the lights to come back on.
Enquiries
There are plenty of things happening at Yallambie Tennis Club and often people are unsure who to ask questions. If in doubt, please reach out to
ytccommittee@gmail.com with your enquiries. This can be from anything regarding lessons, competitions, events, equipment, improvements, or even just general enquries.
Cheers,
Iain Hebden
Club President
